1. The Grooved Gather Foot has a groove on the underside of the foot which allows for the gathering of the fabric.
2. The raised markings on the front of the foot are the seam line guides. They indicate the needle positions to help guide your fabric for accurate seaming.
3. See machine instruction manual for assistance in removing and replacing the snap-on feet.
4. Increase the stitch length. A stitch length of 3 - 4 is recommended.
5. Increase the differential feed by moving the lever to the number 2. The higher the differential feed the more the fabric will gather.
6. For best results place fabric to be gathered right side up under the presser foot.
7. You can also use this foot and the same differential and stitch length settings with chain stitch and coverstitch.
8. The foot has three tape sewing slots: one large at the front of the foot, one on the left side of the foot which can be used for chain/coverstitch and one the right side of the foot used for overlock stitch. You can use the slots to easily guide and attach narrow ribbons, elastics and cotton tapes.
9. This foot was designed for the Gloria because the Gloria has a Flat Sole foot attached when the machine is dispatched, but can be used on all Eight Thread Models.
10. NOTE: Baby Lock USA have named this foot the shirring foot.
